You can can spend hours on the terrace, which juts out into the forest, mesmerized by its exotic sounds as you watch Bwindi's gorillas, chimpanzees, monkeys and birds moving through the tree canopy. A magical walk to the river takes you through regenerated bush that has been carefully nurtured as a buffer zone – this is a favourite haunt of gorillas, who often sleep close to the lodge!

Only one hour’s flight (or a long drive day’s drive) from Entebbe / Kampala, or six hours’ drive from Kigali in Rwanda, this is the perfect spot to experience the magic of this wild place.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has an exceptional range of altitude and is one of Africa’s most extensive belts of primary montane forest. Though there is a fine array of birdlife, the prime attraction is its mountain gorillas (over 300) and four family groups have been habituated to allow human approach.
