On the shores of Lake Kariba, with the Matusadona mountains in view, Changa Safari Camp offers stylish accommodation. n four large East African-style, luxury, fan-cooled tents, all of which overlook the lake.

Each tent has its own en suite bathroom, with indoor shower, flushing toilet, twin washbasins, outdoor bathtub and outdoor shower. The central area consists of several thatched structures linked by raised wooden walkways and decks, with a lounge library, dining room, bar, beautiful deck and swimming pool that all look out onto Lake Kariba.

The area is a walker’s paradise, and early morning or late afternoon walks in the company of one of the camp’s professional guides are a feature of a stay here. Other activities include game drives and cruises on the lake; it is also possible to fish in Lake Kariba.

Matusadona National Park

This relatively unknown wilderness bordering Lake Kariba, dates from 1958, when the Kariba Dam flooded the Zambezi Valley to create a huge man-made lake. Matusadona has a varied habitat, attracting more than 400 bird species. Black rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard and elephant populations are also healthy in the area.
