This lodge is set in a forested area, a short drive from the spa town Papallacta on the eastern slope of the Andes.

Guango Lodge is positioned at an altitude of around 2,700 metres and is one of few places at this elevation that caters for birders. It is unique for the stunning variety of hummingbirds that visit its feeders, which include the sword-billed hummingbird, and many other attractive species. Guests can explore the surrounding scenic trails in the forest-covered mountains, and enjoy the lodge’s growing orchid garden. The lodge serves good food, and accommodation is in comfortable rooms with en suite bathroom.

Papallacta & Antisana

Nestling at the foot of Antisana volcano, Papallacta’s scenery is spectacular with rocky peaks and a vast sweep of bleak páramo above the tree line. At Antisanilla you can see an impressive lava flow and a deep canyon where Andean condor are regularly sighted. Gentians and orchids surround the many lakes.
