Mvuu Lodge nestles discreetly on the banks of a lagoon just off the Shire River on the western boundary of the wildlife-rich Liwonde National Park.

It offers eight luxury Hemingway style tents for a maximum of 16 guests, each with en suite bathroom and private viewing deck looking out on the lagoon. Lodge facilities include a dining room, pub, lounge area, wildlife library and a swimming pool.

A short distance away, the somewhat simpler Mvuu Camp has 12 chalets with river views. Both offer vehicle and walking wildlife safaris, plus boat trips. A well-sited hide overlooks the river so you can see animals as they come to drink in the heat of the day. The immediate vicinity offers excellent birding.
