  • Location:

The AfriCat Foundation, north of Windhoek, is the world's largest Cheetah and Leopard rescue and release programme. Okinjima Lodge and bush camp offers accommodation in 10 deluxe rooms, eight luxurious African-style chalets, or a fabulous private villa with four bedrooms - including two super-luxurious private suites where the king-size beds can be wheeled outside under the stars! Allow two nights here to give you the opportunity to visit the Cheetah project. Here you will not only learn about the welfare work, but also go out into the private reserve to track the beautiful cheetahs on foot and view Leopard from game-viewing vehicles. This area of deciduous woodland is also a birdwatchers paradise with over 200 species including rare endemics such as the Monteiro's Hornbill, Hartlaub's Francolin and Rockrunner being recorded. There are numerous walking trails which wind in and around the Valley. With it's proximity to Windhoek International Airport, Okinjima makes a perfect final stop to a trip around Namibia, because for late flight departures it avoids spending an extra night in Windhoek.
