Owned and operated by the same family as the nearby Chiawa Camp, Old Mondoro has a simple concept - to provide an authentic, intimate safari that concentrates on wildlife and the bush experience while not forgoing creature comforts or good service.

Set in acacia trees overlooking the Zambezi River, four unpretentious reed-and-canvas chalets have en suite bathroom, mosquito nets, lanterns and simple wardrobes, with a wooden verandah deck outside. The bathrooms have a wash basin, flushing toilet and outdoor shower.

The heart of the camp is a dining room under a thatched roof with lovely views of the river and islands. Activities focus on walking, although you can also do day and night drives, and canoe safaris.
