This compact 24-metre Tourist Superior Class motor sailer accommodates 14 passengers in seven air-conditioned cabins - six with upper and lower berths and a small porthole, plus one double-bedded cabin with panoramic window. Facilities include a saloon, outside dining area and sun deck; there is one naturalist guide. This is our recommendation for a good value trip. With teak decks and lots of polished brass, this boat is oozing with character.

The M/V Samba offers two itineraries as follows:

Samba 8 day / 7 night Northwest Galapagos itinerary (Tue-Tue)
Day 1 Fly to Baltra and embark. Introductory briefing and visit Las Bachas (Santa Cruz)
Day 2 Visit Darwin Bay and El Barranco (Prince Phillip's Steps, Genovesa)
Day 3 Visit Punta Mejia and Playa Negra (Marchena) Island
Day 4 Visit Punta Albemarle and Punta Vicente Roca (Isabela)
Day 5 Visit Punta Espinoza (Fernandina) and Urbina Bay (Isabela)
Day 6 Visit Elizabeth Bay and Punta Morena (Isabela)
Day 7 Visit Asilo de La Paz, Cerro Alleri and La Loberia (Floreana)
Day 8 Disembark and visit the highlands of Santa Cruz, en route to Baltra; fly to the mainland.

Samba 7 day / 6 night Central & Eastern Galapagos itinerary (Tue-Tue)
Day 1 Fly to Baltra; transfer via the highlands of Santa Cruz island to Puerto Ayora and embark. Introductory briefing and visit Charles Darwin Research Station
Day 2 Visit Punta Cormoran, Champion Rock, Post Office Bay and La Baronesa lookout (Floreana).
Day 3 Visit Punta Suarez, Gardner Bay and Gardner Rock (Espanola)
Day 4 Visit Isla Lobos, Leon Dormido (Kicker Rock) and Punta Pitt (San Cristobal)
Day 5 Visit Barrington Bay (Santa Fe), South Plaza island and Punta Carrion
Day 6 Visit Sullivan Bay (Santiago) and Bartolome island
Day 7 Visit James Bay (Santiago) and Rabida island
Day 8 Visit North Seymour island, disembark on Baltra and fly to the mainland.
