This large First Class 72-metre motor cruiser carries 90 passengers in 43 cabins of five different categories on three decks. The vessel is air-conditioned throughout and facilities include a lounge, bar, restaurant, shop, reading room and library, jacuzzi, sun deck and aromatherapy centre. The crew of 52 includes a doctor and six naturalist guides; there are five zodiacs for ship-to-shore transport plus a glass-bottomed boat.
The M/V Santa Cruz offers three itineraries as follows:
Santa Cruz 6 day / 5 night Eastern Galapagos itinerary (Fri-Wed)
Day 1 Fly to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (San Cristobal) and embark. Introductory briefing and visit the Interpretation Centre and Cerro Tijeretas (San Cristobal)
Day 2 Visit Cerro Brujo and Punta Pitt (San Cristobal)
Day 3 Visit Santa Fe and South Plaza island
Day 4 Visit Charles Darwin Research Station, Puerto Ayora, and the highlands of Santa Cruz island, with a visit Los Gemelos and a tortoise reserve (Dec-Apr only)
Day 5 Visit Punta Suarez and Gardner Bay (Espanola)
Day 6 Disembark on Baltra Island and fly to mainland.
Santa Cruz 6 day / 5 night Western Galapagos itinerary (Wed-Mon)
Day 1 Fly to Baltra and embark. Introductory briefing and visit North Seymour island
Day 2 Visit Punta Vicente Roca (Isabela) and Punta Espinoza (Fernandina)
Day 3 Visit Tagus Cove and Urbina Bay (Isabela)
Day 4 Visit Darwin Research Station, Puerto Ayora and the highlands (Santa Cruz)
Day 5 Visit Post Office Bay, Baroness' Tower and Punta Cormoran and Champion island (Floreana)
Day 6 Disembark on Baltra Island and fly to mainland
Santa Cruz 5 day / 4 night Northern Galapagos itinerary (Mon-Fri)
Day 1 Fly to Baltra and embark. Introductory briefing and visit Las Bachas (Santa Cruz)
Day 2 Visit Buccaneer Cove and Puerto Egas (Santiago)
Day 3 Visit Rabida and Bartolome islands
Day 4 Visit El Barranco (Prince Philip's Steps) and Darwin Bay (Genovesa)
Day 5 Disembark at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (San Cristobal), visit Cerro Colorado tortoise breeding centre and fly to mainland
