Kanha - Tuli Tiger Corridor

Tuli Tiger Corridor is the luxurious extension of Tuli Tiger Resort. It is well-situated in the western region of Kanha National Park's buffer zone, near the Ganghar River just a few minutes drive from Kisli Gate. Set in 22 acres of lush greenery it comprises eight free-standing air-conditioned luxury tents, each with finely embroidered canopies, wooden floors, luxurious bathrooms and private walled gardens. The tents are well-appointed, large and opulent inside, with an outdoor viewing deck overlooking the river and the jungle of Kanha beyond. There is a pool and the central dining area is housed in a large fully air-conditioned tent called "The Habitat" along with a library, well-stocked bar and dining room. Resident chefs prepare Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisine. Shutters and warm fires are lit during the winter months. As well as the twice daily game drives to Kanha resident naturalists are on hand to answer questions about the local wildlife and environment.

  • Location:

Kanha Tiger Reserve offers some of India's finest Tiger viewing with the 2002 census counting 114 tigers. It is located in a remote part of central India in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The grasslands and deciduous forests also support 22 other mammal species such as Barasingha, Chital, Muntjac, Swamp, Spotted and Barking Deer, Sambar, Common Langur and Rhesus Monkeys, Wild Boar, Asiatic Jackal, three of India's four lowland antelopes, Nilgai, Four-horned Antelope (Chowsingha) and Blackbuck and occasionally Leopard, Gaur (Indian Bison), Sloth Bear, Wolf and Dhole (Wild Dog). Kanha is noted for the last remaining population of hard-ground Barasingha, which exceeds 350. Over 220 species of birds are found including Racket-Tailed Drongos, bee-eaters, Crested Serpent and Hawk Eagles, shikras, flycatchers, Painted Partridge, Shaheen Falcon, Golden Oriole and the omnipresent Red Jungle Fowl. Waterholes and high plateaus such as Bahmni Dadar are excellent spots for bird watching, and quiet locations to stop and immerse oneself in the natural peace of the jungle. Wildlife viewing is by jeep and elephant back.

Kanha is reached via flights to Nagpur, plus a seven hour road transfer. There are also overnight trains from Agra/Delhi to Jabalpur (approximately 15-16 hours), plus a road transfer of four to five hours. (Transfer times are dependent on road conditions which are variable.) Kanha is open from mid October to June.
