Belize and Guatemala are small yet diverse countries, between them offering verdant rainforests and beautiful jungle lodges, sparkling coral reefs and palm-fringed beaches. Mayan temples rise above steaming tropical jungles, alive with the sounds of monkeys and oropendolas, reminding us of a world gone by. Although included in our Belize itinerary, Guatemala is now also featured as a destination on its own. With nearly 700 species of bird, approximately 300 species of mammal, reptiles and butterflies galore, this relatively unexplored and undeveloped country is definitely worth a visit!
