Brazil’s Endangered Forest and Wildlife

Recent reports show that Amazon deforestation has accelerated for the first time in four years, as opposed to the previous three year fall. This has been attributed to the rise in commodity prices and the demand for farmland for cattle and soya. We must endeavour to support the livelihoods of forest tribal people who protect their homeland and ecosystems, which is of course so vital to all of us (www.survival-international.org).

Brazil’s Endangered Wildlife is a small group trip which, though based in the Pantanal region of Brazil, allows first hand information and viewing of local wildlife protection projects including Jaguar and Hyacinth Macaw conservation. Extension options could include a visit to an Amazon lodge and perhaps a cruise down the mighty river itself?
