Bears & Wolves in Romania

4 days London to London

Day 1. Depart London [D]
Depart London for Bucharest. Here you will be collected by your guide and transferred over the Carpathian Mountains to Zarnesti, at the border of Kingstone Mountain National Park well known for its population of Wolves, Brown Bears and Lynx. During your four day stay you will be based at the traditional Elena Guesthouse. After dinner, you may get the chance to visit the bears, which are feeding in the outskirts of Brasov town.
Days 2. Bear hide [B, L, D]
After breakfast you will begin your guided bear and wolf tracking in the woods en-route to the bear hide. Although there are said to be more bears in Romania than there are in the whole of British Columbia, they are elusive, but you can be assured of a good opportunity to view one or two feeding close to the hide. Other wildlife you may see includes Red Fox and very occasionally Wild Boar, Red Deer and Lynx. Birdlife here includes woodpeckers, grouse, Honey Buzzard, and various owl species.
Day 3. [B, L, D]
In the morning take a walk in the Zarnesti Gorges where it is possible to see birds like Wallcreepers, Alpine Swifts, Three-toed Woodpecker. After lunch you continue wolf and bear tracking in Kingstone Mountain National Park.
Day 4. Homeward [B]
