9 days London to London

SMALL GROUP DEPARTURE IMAGE
Days 1 to 2. Lake Manyara [ L, D (Day 2 only)]
Depart London on the overnight flight to Arusha via Nairobi. On arrival you head to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, perched high on the Rift Valley escarpment with magnificent views of the park and lake below.
Days 3 & 4.Serengeti [B, L, D]
This morning take a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Despite its relatively small size, this enchanting park plays host to a tremendous variety of habitats reflected in superb bird and mammal populations. Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Hippo, Maasai Giraffe, Leopard, Blue Monkey and of course, the famous tree-climbing Lions are all common residents here.

Following lunch you depart for the Serengeti where you spend two nights at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge going on morning and afternoon game drives. Perhaps the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, the Serengeti has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa, and is the venue for the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. Every year towards the end of November huge herds gather on the southern grasslands and in May begin their legendary trek northwards. The herds spill over into the Maasai Mara in September and in November they trek back through the Serengeti. However, many animals remain on the great grass plains throughout the year.

Days 5 & 6. Ngorongoro Crater [B, L, D]
Today enjoy another morning game drive in the Serengeti as you head towards Olduvai Gorge for a lunchtime picnic. After lunch continue through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Ngorongoro Crater, where you spend two nights at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, perched high on the rim of the Crater with one of Africa's finest landscapes for a view. This ancient caldera contains Africa's most spectacular flora and fauna - predators, plains game, and thousands of flamingos which cast a pink haze over Lake Magadi. On day 6 you descend into the crater to view this amazing spectacle.
Day 7. Tarangire National Park [B, L, D]
Today visit Tarangire National Park. Entering the park you head towards Tarangire Sopa Lodge, game-viewing enroute. After lunch go on an afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge for the night. Tarangire is dominated by baobab trees which create a dramatic and unusual landscape. The park is the focus of its own mini-migrations and during the dry seasons the vast swamps here attract thousands of species of game. Greater Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Burchell's Zebra, Cape Buffalo, Eland, Leopards, Spotted Hyena, Lion and great herds of Elephants are found here.
Days 8 & 9. Homeward [B, L (Day 8 only)]
Depart for Arusha for lunch before your return flight via Nairobi, arriving home on day 9.
