Extension ideas for Chile

All of our itineraries to Chile can be tailor-made and our 'Land of Extremes' itinerary is simply a suggestion. You can add nights, take them out, or even add other locations. There are many other national parks and regions of Chile that can be included in a visit to the country. Below are a few suggestions, which might tempt you...

Lauca National Park 4 days from Arica
Lauca National Park in northern Chile is a wild and remote park with stunning scenery. Putre (your base) has a wonderful setting in the hills with the Taapaca Volcano as a backdrop. There are several pre-Inca ruins nearby as well as prehistoric caves with 5,000-year old hand paintings. Excursions from Putre will be either by jeep or on foot and wildlife you could hope to see includes Vicuna, Puma, Alpaca, Vizcachas, Cuy and Armadillo. You spend three nights at the El Paso Park Hotel.
