Photography Skills Weekend with Wildlife Worldwide

at The George Hotel, Hathersage, Derbyshire

Why not blow away those under-utilised camera cobwebs and test out any new photographic Christmas gifts by joining top wildlife photographers Nick Garbutt and Chris Mattison for a photography workshop weekend in the Peak District?

Nick and Chris will be showing you how you can get the most out of your photography equipment even within the boundaries of your own back garden, including macro and flash photography which will be extremely beneficial to any Festival 2008 attendees in Madagascar.

The George Hotel at Hathersage will provide top wildlife photographers Nick Garbutt and Chris Mattison with a perfect homely base from which to share some of their more intimate photography skills.

Friday 11th January

A welcome by The George Hotel and access to all rooms will be available any time from 3pm onwards. Please take the time to settle in and familiarise yourselves with the hotel surroundings and facilities. As we are aware that some of you will be travelling some distance to get to Hathersage, dinner will be optional on this first night and left for your own account.

Saturday 12th January

There will be a leisurely start to the day, with breakfast taken any time between 7:30 - 9:30am. Photography skills workshops with both Nick and Chris will be held throughout the day. Depending on the weather situation, some sections of the workshops will take place either within the hotel or out in the beautiful surrounding Derbyshire countryside, accessible by walking directly from the hotel. The workshops, whilst providing an overview in general photography skills will concentrate on the achievable results 'within your own back garden', through the use of macro and flash photography.

These skills will be extremely beneficial to any customers who may be joining us for the Festival of Wildlife in Madagascar in April 2008. Following the mornings activities, a relaxed lunch will be taken at the hotel. Nick and Chris will include presentations of their own work and discussions regarding all aspects of photography. There will be time before dinner, in the Courtyard Suite, to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities.

Sunday 13th January

Once again, there will be the opportunity for a relaxed start to the day with breakfast available between 7:30 - 10:00am. Depending on the weather, Chris and Nick will continue with workshops during the morning, either in the comfort of the Boardroom, or out and about on foot. The George Hotel will then provide us with a well earned Sunday lunch, leaving plenty of time in the afternoon to stay and enjoy the Peak District or head off back home.
