Reindeer Safari

Journey with the Sami and drive your own Reindeer through the majestic and quiet Arctic wilderness staying in traditional tents (Lavvu). Experience and learn about traditional Sami life with the possibility of seeing wildlife such as Ptarmigan, Elk, Wolverine and Lynx, along your journey. This mainly cultural and wilderness trip is definitely a unique adventure! Do call us for further information.
- Day 1. Depart London [L, D]
- Depart London for Kiruna in Swedish Lapland via Stockholm where you will be met and transferred to Jukkasjaervi village and the Old Homestead. You will be provided with cold weather gear and after some initial instruction will commence your Reindeer safari.
- Day 2-3. Reindeer safari and activities[B, L, D]
- After breakfast you explore the area on snowshoes with the opportunity of finding wild animal tracks. Later you continue with your reindeer team through the forest to Sautosjohka. You spend the next 2 nights in a traditional Sami tent and will be treated to an evening of local hospitality and campfire stories.
- Day 4. Reindeer safari and activities [B, L,D]
- This morning you will have an opportunity to experience Nordic skiing or perhaps a spot of ice-fishing, before continuing on your safari back to the Wilderness Cabin for your final night.
- Day 5. [B]
- After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kiruna, where you will get your return flight home.
