Wildlife abounds on this wonderful trip. You'll discover nesting turtles, monkeys, prolific birdlife and much more, amidst a tapestry of forests, beaches, lagoons and waterfalls. Exploring by foot, boat and high above the trees on a canopy walkway, you'll visit our favourite places: from Tortuguero to Monteverde Cloud Forest and the white-sand beaches of Tamarindo. There are plenty of opportunities to get up-close and personal with Costa Rica's wildlife.

Day 1. Depart UK for San José

Fly to San José, 1 night Radisson Hotel

Day 2. Tortuguero

Travel by road and boat to Tortuguero National Park for a two night stay at Laguna Lodge.

Day 3. Tortuguero

Boat journey to see numerous monkeys and prolific birdlife

Days 4-5. Arenal Volcano

Depart Tortuguero by boat, then drive to Arenal Volcano National Park, 2 nights Arenal Springs Hotel. Walks in Arenal Volcano National Park

Days 6-7. Monteverde Cloud Forest

Drive via Arenal Lake to Monteverde, 2 nights Cloud Forest Lodge. Two days exploring Santa Elena Cloud Forest - canopy walkways are one of the best ways to explore the region

Days 8-9. Rincon de la Vieja

Drive to Rincon de la Vieja, 2 nights Hacienda Guachipelin. Enjoy various trail walks and swim in waterfalls

Days 10-11. Tamarindo

After your explorations, there's time to relax on the beaches of Tamarindo from the beach-front Diria Hotel, 2 nights

Day 12. Return to San José

A final night in San José, visiting Carara National Park en route
