A complete journey through Ecuador's varied topography - from volcanoes and snow-capped mountains to green valleys and impressive city sights. You'll also see the best of Ecuador's prolific bird and wildlife, including maybe the Andean condor and elusive jaguar.
- Day 1. Depart UK
- Fly to Quito where you will be met and transferred to the Hotel Patio Andaluz - 2 nights
- Day 2. Quito
- Optional sightseeing of Quito or excursion to the "centre of the world"
- Days 3-4. Mindo Cloud Forest
- Take the old Nono-Mindo road, a well-known birding road that descends the west slope of the Andes from Quito that leads to the rich Montane and Cloud Forests - 2 nights Septimo Paraiso. Full day birding excursion.
- Day 5. Quito
- Early morning before returning to Quito - 1 night
- Days 6-7. Papallacta
- Depart from Quito towards the Papallacta Pass (4,100 metres), the highest accessible point in Ecuador, to Papallacta - 2 nights Guango Lodge. Birding excursions; this area is home to many hummingbirds.
- Day 8. Quito
- Early morning birding before returning to Quito - 1 night
- Days 9-11. Amazon Jungle
- Fly to Coca and transfer to Sacha Jungle Lodge - 3 nights. Explore the tributaries, forests and myriad wildlife in this pristine jungle environment
- Day 12. Quito
- Return to Quito for your last night in Ecuador
- Days 13. Depart Quito
- Day 14. Arrive UK
