A fascinating holiday to experience some of India's lesser known wildlife in Gandhi's home state. You'll see Asiatic lions, ass and flamingos as well as endemic blackbuck, and endangered animals, like the India wolf. And it's a lesser trodden route, so you are less likely to be sharing these beautiful reserves with others.
- Day 1. Depart UK
- Fly to Mumbai
- Days 2-4. Velavadar National Park
- Arrive Mumbai, fly to Bhavnagar and transfer to Velavadar National Park - 3 nights Blackbuck Lodge. Game drives
- Days 5-8. Sasangir National Park
- Drive to Sasangir National Park - 4 nights Gir Birding Lodge or Lion Safari Camp. Home to approximately 300 Asiatic lions, it's your chance to see them!
- Day 9. Gondal
- Drive to Gondal, visit Gondal Lake - 1 night Orchard Palace
- Days 10-12. Little Rann of Kutch
- Drive to Little Rann of Kutch - 3 nights Rann Riders Camp. Safaris to see the Asiatic wild ass
- Day 13. Depart for the UK
- Drive to Ahmedabad, fly to Mumbai and onward overnight flight to the UK
- Day 14. Arrive UK
