Whale & Puffin Fly-drive

- Day 1. Depart London
- Depart London for Keflavik, where you pick up your hire car (VW Polo or similar) and head off to Reykjavik and the Viking Village where you spend the night.
- Days 2 & 3. Olafsvik [B]
- Today drive along the spectacular coast to the small fishing village of Olafsvik which will be your base for the next two nights and it is from here you depart on your whale watching cruise. You should be on the lookout for dolphins, Minke Whales, Orcas, and Humpbacks. There is also an outside chance of seeing Blue Whales here too.
- Day 4. Vestmann Island [B]
- Drive south to Herjolfur where you take the car ferry to Heimaey on the Vestmann Islands. The Vestmann Islands are home to the largest colony of Atlantic Puffins in the world ??? some eight millions birds. Heimaey, the only inhabited island of the archipelago, is dominated by Eldfell, a new volcano whose eruption in 1973 destroyed half of the nearby fishing harbour. Spend the night at Hotel Thorshamer.
- Day 5. Reykjavik [B]
- Take the afternoon ferry back to the mainland and return to Reykjavik where you spend your final night at the centrally located Hotel Klopp.
- Day 6. Homeward [B]
- This morning either take an optional whale watch or spend time exploring Reykjavik. In the afternoon return to the airport via the world famous Blue Lagoon before returning your car and flying home.
