- Day 1. Depart London [D]
- Depart London for Bucharest. On arrival you will be met and transferred deep into the Carpathian Mountains to the village of Zarnesti, a traditional Romanian village. During your stay you will be based at Guesthouse Elena. The trekking over the following days will range from easy to medium, however this exciting trip can also be made with cross-country skis to enable you to cover a much larger area.
- Day 2. [B, L, D]
- This morning your guide will meet you and you will make an easy trek into the Zarnesti Gorge. This is usually an excellent place to see Chamoix.
- Day 3. [B, L, D]
- Early in the morning you will explore the virgin forests of Tamas in the Barsa area on the north-western slope of the Piatra Craiului Mountains. It is a good place for wolf and deer tracking. Other wildlife you could hope to see signs of at this time of year include Lynx and Wild Boar.
- Day 4. [B, L, D]
- Today you walk in the Ursilor Valley and with your guide observe and explore the animals tracks in the mixed coniferous and beech forest before returning in the evening to your guesthouse for a traditional dinner.
- Day 5. [B]
- After breakfast head back to Bucharest. En-route you have the opportunity to stop off at the medieval village of Bran, home to the castle used by Bram Stoker as his inspiration for the classic work 'Dracula'. Continue to the airport for your homeward flight.
