This remote national park has over 70 species of mammal with notable species such as eland, greater kudu and cheetah which are found nowhere else in Uganda.

Kidepo Valley National Park is arguably the best place in Uganda to see lions and large herds of buffalo, as well as zebras and giraffe. The perennial rains transform the park into a lush, verdant refuge, which attracts more than 450 bird species with around 20 species believed to be endemic to the region. Birds to keep an eye out for are ostrich, Karamoja apalis, red-throated bee-eater, Verreaux’s eagle, Kori bustard and pygmy falcon.
