Mburo has big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. Other mammals found in the park include oribi and Bohor reedbuck.

The area forms part of a 50km-long wetland system, and has up to 70 mammal species and good populations of plains game.

There’s a good range of birds, and African finfoot and papyrus bushshrike are sighted on a regular basis. The Lake is also home to shoebills, although they are rarely seen.
