An extraordinary place for breeding birds, North Seymour it is home to magnificient frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies, some of the most colourful and photogenic species in the Galapagos.

The island is characterised by its arid vegetation zone, and was formed by a series of submarine lava flows containing layers of sediment that were uplifted by tectonic activity.

There is a good walking trail crossing the island, and in addition to breeding birds, there are many other wildlife species that are found here, including land and marine iguanas, galapagos sealion, reef sharks and garden eels.
