Things to see in Costa Rica: The Gulf of Nicoya
This stunning coastal landscape includes wetland, jagged rocky islands, cliffs and mangroves. The offshore islands islands protect seabird sanctuaries where visitors are not allowed, however with binoculars you can watch the birds from the shore.
Guayabo has the largest of Costa Rica?s four known brown pelican nesting sites, and is also home to boobies, frigatebirds and falcons at certain times of year. The area gets comparatively few visitors - a distinct advantage for anyone with a keen interest in wildlife and photography!
