The Ocean Adventurer has established itself as one of the most comfortable polar expedition ships and is perfectly suited for wildlife voyaging in the Arctic and Antarctic.
This vessel has the highest ice-class rating (1A) making it suitable for navigation in solid one-year sea ice as well as loose multi-year pack ice. The Ocean Adventurer can accommodate up to 132 passengers in a high-level of comfort, with all cabins en suite. The ship is accompanied by 87 highly-trained staff and crew, which includes experienced nautical crew members, hotel staff, expedition specialists and a medical doctor.
The Ocean Adventurer is equipped with two Rolls Royce engines, which offer good fuel efficiency, minimising its carbon footprint and giving a cruising speed of 12 knots in open water.
A characteristic of the Ocean Adventurer which really separates it from other expedition ships is the large amount of outdoor deck space, which makes observing wildlife that much easier. The outdoor space is split over four decks from the Main Deck all the way to a viewing deck above the bridge.
