Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge chalets are connected by walkways, a bird observation tower and an open sundeck facing the river.
The lodge consists of 33 rooms in total - 12 semi-detached timber-built chalets with two fully independent rooms, plus another three units of three rooms (a variety of twins, doubles, triples and family rooms), all of which have en suite bathrooms with hot shower, insect-screened windows and fans, and are connected by hardwood walkways. Electricity is provided by generator.
The lodge makes a convenient base to see wildlife and there is a jungle trail where red leaf monkey and wild orangutan are often seen. There are various spots for viewing the lovely natural surroundings and its wildlife: the Jetty Tower, the Bird Tower, the Frog Platform and an open sundeck facing to the river. Activities include morning and afternoon river cruises with experienced guides, jungle treks which start from just behind the lodge, and you can walk to a local village. After dinner there are frequent video presentations featuring the area's wildlife, and occasional live music laid on by the friendly staff. The restaurant (where tea and coffee is on hand around the clock) and bar area look out over the river and jetty, and there's a small air-conditioned library.
