Kulala Desert Lodge is a luxury lodge in the heart of the Namib Desert, offering magnificent views of the famous red dunes of Sossusvlei, as well as spectacular mountains and vast open plains.
Situated in a large private reserve bordering the Namib-Naukluft Park, this beautiful lodge offers accommodation in 12 thatched and canvas chalets, set on wooden platforms, with en suite bathrooms and showers. Mattresses can be moved to the rooftop to sleep under the stars on a private stargazing platform on top of the room – a popular option with outdoor enthusiasts!
The main lodge has a lounge, pub, dining area and plunge pool, and the verandah overlooks a waterhole, providing the perfect location to view and photograph the desert sunset. Early morning guided vehicle safaris to the spectacular dunes are via a private gate on the Tsauchab River. Vehicle safaris and walks are also offered on the private reserve to search for desert game and smaller desert-adapted fauna and flora, and to marvel at the incredible scenery. Spotlit night drives are also a highlight.
