Christopher Ralling OBE

Christopher Ralling first joined the BBC in 1955 and over the course of his career has been Producer & Deputy Editor of "Panorana" and the BBC Head of Documentaries. His many programme credits include dramas and documentaries, from "The Search for the Nile", "Shackleton in the Antarctic", & "To the South Pole with Peter Scott" to "The Kon-Tiki Man - Life of Thor Heyerdahl" and "The Buried Mirror - History of Spanish America". Perhaps most relevant to this trip is "The Voyage of Charles Darwin", for which he won a BAFTA in 1979.

His filming has led him to travel the World, from Everest to the Antarctic and has also given him the opportunity to write several books, including "Muggeridge Through The Microphone", "Shackleton", "The Kon-Tiki Man", and "The Voyage of Charles Darwin".

Christopher will be sharing his vast film making experience and will be showing you that "you too can make a television documentary" with a workshop on documentary-making and well as talking about the young Charles Darwin.
