Standing on the lovely quiet beach of Playa Hermosa, Bosque del Mar is a stylish eco-hotel, perfect for families and lovers of nature. Accommodation is in a tasteful and modern complex, clustered around a small central pool in a lush garden setting.
The open-sided main building contains the reception desk, lobby area and an informal ground floor beachside restaurant; there is also a first-floor gourmet international restaurant and lounge bar overlooking the beach. Other facilities include a small swimming pool, jacuzzi, WiFi internet access, laundry service, and a scuba diving centre.
Accommodation is spread over various two-storey buildings and consists of 20 junior suites with two queen size beds and separate living room. Six oceanfront suites have either two queen size beds or one king size, living room with sofa bed, and open-air jacuzzi, while six similarly-sized garden view suites have two queen size beds, but no jacuzzi or ocean view. A beachfront oenthouse suite occupies the third floor of the main building, containing a master bedroom with king size bed, living room, fully equipped kitchen, games room and another adjacent room. On the same floor are two twin suites with a bedroom with two queen size beds and living room with rollaway bed. All rooms have a bathroom with hot water shower, air conditioning, ceiling fan, IDD telephone, flat screen cable TV, minibar, tea and coffee maker, alarm clock, hair dryer, room safe, terrace with table and chairs.
The hotel can arrange activities such as snorkelling, diving, paddle boarding, whitewater rafting, horse riding, sport fishing and a canopy tour, plus trips to Rincon de la Vieja and Palo Verde National Parks. The hotel is only four hours drive from the capital San Jose, and one hour from Tamarindo.
