Nestled on the southern edge of the Busanga Plains in Kafue National Park, this classic camp consists of four comfortable en suite thatched chalets, accommodating a total of eight guests. Each chalet looks out over the surrounding wilderness.
The two main communal areas include the lounge and bar. The latter is up on a raised deck with an uninterrupted view over the vast mosaic of Ntemwa-Busanga's grassy seasonal floodplain that extends to the horizon. The former is on a lower level covered by stretch-canvas and decked out with comfortable furniture as well as charging facilities for electronic devices. Most meals are taken in the open air, so you can watch herds of lechwe and puku feeding, while dinner is served under the shady canopy of an impressive tree. Sunrise and sunset are spectacular, particularly in winter when the mist created as the floodplain dries burns off in the heat of the morning sun.
Activities include safaris on foot and by vehicle, and night drives, all led by qualified experienced guides who are extremely knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife. As the plains dry out, this camp is perfectly situated to see large numbers of plains game such as puku, red lechwe, buffalo and wildebeest, and their predators most notably lion. Cheetah and wild dog are also seen, while a special treat is the resident herd of roan antelope. If you are interested in birding, the park's 491 species include endemics such as Chaplin's barbet.
