Situated in a private reserve with views out over the impressive Fish River Canyon, Cañon Lodge consists of 26 thatched bungalows, each with natural rock walls and full en suite facilities.
The original farmhouse, dating back to 1910, has been restored and now houses the restaurant, and the accommodation combines rustic natural elements with modern comfort and conveniences.
You can sit back and enjoy the timeless and awe-inspiring views of Fish River Canyon, and hikers can see impressive rock formations by walking the trails that lead through a prehistoric landscape dotted with stands of quiver trees.
The magnificent canyon of the Fish River is one of nature’s dramatic spectacles, second only in size to the Grand Canyon. The huge river gorge meanders through the surrounding desert plains, reaching depths of over 550 metres. The area offers excellent birdwatching, and there are several short scenic hikes available.
