Located amongst lush paddy fields, just ten minutes from Wilpattu National Park, Claughton Wild offers superb accommodation with friendly hosts, excellent dining and a welcoming swimming pool.

One of the most comfortable bases for exploring Wilpattu National Park, the lodge has an excellent location close to the park’s eastern entrance but set within a tranquil area close to local rice fields and forest.

There are two types of accommodation, located around the two hectare site which mostly overlooks paddyfields and distant forest. There are five original (three superior) chalets, and five slightly smaller lodges, built with lighter fabricated cement. All are spacious and modern with air-conditioning and ceiling fans, TVs, mini fridges and tea and coffee facilities.

The restaurant serves an a la carte menu of typical Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property and there is a welcoming swimming pool to enjoy after a day out on safari. The pond and rice paddies around the site also attract many frogs at night alongside a variety of birdlife during the day.
