Set in the middle of a quiet village surrounded by the verdant Bialowieza Forest, Dworek Gawra offers cosy, traditional lodge style accommodation with private facilities.

Studying tracks in the snow, we explore the Biebrza Marshes and Białowieża Forest in search of European bison, wild boar, elk, red deer and, if lucky, some of the country's predators. North-eastern Europe was once covered in ancient woodland, and Białowieża is a remnant of this forest. It is home to a wonderful diversity of species and particularly important for protecting some of Europe’s large mammals, including bison, wolf, lynx and brown bear, as well as the pygmy owl.
