Hacienda Zuleta is an historic colonial property, dating from 1691. Still a working farm, the atmosphere is cosy and intimate, and the hospitality superb.
The original building has 15 tastefully furnished rooms, each with a fireplace. A attraction is the Condor Huasi conservation project in the grounds, whose objective is to safeguard the future of the Andean condor and educate local communities as to their importance. Located around an hour's drive from Otavalo, there are also 60kms of self-guided nature trails in the vicinity.
This beautiful area of lakes and mountains north of Quito is home to small indigenous communities with a way of life that has changed little for centuries.
