Kirurumu Ngorongoro is a small and intimate camp, located in one of the most beautiful locations in the highlands, overlooking Ngorongoro Conservancy. There are a limited number of guests, so the level of attention and service is always excellent.
The luxury accommodation at Kirurumu consists of seven customised safari tents tastefully furnished with comfortable (twin or double) beds with thick mattresses, safari chairs, mats and soft furnishings in individual style. Both the bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower and toilet have solar-powered lighting.
Other facilities include a dining tent for breakfast, lunch and romantic, candle-lit dinners with waiter service, plus a campfire area. Activities include day trips to one of the most scenically attractive areas of the conservation area - Empakai - whose deep lake is famous for its flamingos, shore birds and outstanding beauty. The camp also has easy access to various cultural attractions, and there are day trips and walks to visit neighbouring Masai communities.
Kirurumu Ngorongoro is a good base for a walking: you can hike around Mount Makarot, or climb nearby Olmoti mountain, to the waterfall that breaches its rim to become the Munge river which feeds a swamp in the crater.
