Kuthengo Camp offers the ultimate safari retreat, maintaining a rustic charm in an intimate environment of just four tents from which to explore the unspoiled Liwonde National Park by vehicle and boat or on walking safaris.
The camp is positioned on a large open plain stretching towards the Shire River, with the tents nestled among fever trees and magnificent baobabs, where resident fish eagles can be found nesting. The four spacious and modern safari tents all feature en suite facilities, a innovative ‘evening breeze air conditioning’ system and a private deck, perfect for relaxing on whilst admiring the herds of waterbuck that frequent the camp, along with the stunning views of the Shire River and surrounding national park.
From the camp there are many different ways to explore the unspoiled Liwonde National Park. Vehicle safaris are available for both day and night drives; walking safaris are perfect for those wanting to get closer to nature and learn more about the detail and signs that the animals leave. From the end of December to early April, boat safaris are an ideal way to explore the lagoons for birdlife and enhanced wildlife viewing.
