Mount Gahinga Lodge

Located on the edge of Mgahinga National Park, home to habituated groups of mountain gorillas, Mount Gahinga Lodge offers accommodation in six thatched bandas.

The stone-built bandas each have double or twin beds, en suite shower room, a fireplace and private verandah.  

Surrounded by the spectacular Virunga Volcanoes, the lodge is the ideal place to stay tracking the Nkuringo family of mountain gorillas, however other activities on offer include: climbing a volcano, tracking the elusive golden monkey, birding or nature walks, swimming in the emerald waters of Lake Mutanda, or simply taking in one of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes.

The journey to Mount Gahinga is exhilarating as you drive through spectacular mountain scenery and look down across endless terraced slopes to emerald-green crater lakes far below. The lodge is a one hour flight (or a long day’s drive) from Entebbe, or four hours’ drive from Rwanda's capital, Kigali.

Note: You will need a permit to track gorillas in Mgahinga National Park.
