A family-friendly luxury safari property located in the southern section of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, combining fantastic hospitality with unrivalled children’s entertainment and a first-class game viewing experience.
Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge is the oldest of the four lodges in the Sabi Sabi collection, each property featuring a time related theme; Bush Lodge provides the contemporary safari experience. The property blends relaxed luxury with touches of African tradition, and occupies a fantastic location for wildlife sightings with views of an active waterhole and endless plains from the main deck with two swimming pools, one of which is designated for children. Drinks from the eclectic bar can be enjoyed in the large seating area under thatch, oozing safari grandeur with enchanting hanging lights and authentic safari themed décor as various species pass by.
Accommodation at Bush Lodge comprises 22 luxury suites and three stunning private villas. The air-conditioned suites are all standalone, with a spacious interior accentuated by its open plan flow, seamlessly transitioning between the private outdoor viewing deck, dressing area, king-sized bed and lounge space. Two daybeds convert into single beds for children, with the suites comfortably sleeping a family of four. The en suite bathrooms are natural and modern with double vanity unit, soothing bathtub and both indoor and outdoor showers. The villas are the ultimate exclusive retreat, with two large en suite bedrooms, a library/lounge area, a private plunge pool overlooking a waterhole and a private vehicle for game drives.
Opulent décor is found throughout, with fascinating handmade pieces and pure natural fabrics complimenting the premium ambiance. The sizeable bathrooms include a deluxe modern dressing room with double vanity units, two indulgent bathtubs for couples to relax together, and indoor and outdoor showers. The villas sleep a maximum of six people (four adults and two children).
The lodge provides one of the best experiences for children in the Greater Kruger, with the dedicated EleFun Centre offering a colourful, caring and educational experience designed by childcare experts. Parents can relax in the knowledge that their little ones are sufficiently entertained whilst learning to embrace their natural curiosities on age-appropriate programmes for 4-12 year olds, or are equally welcome to watch what they get up to with their new friends. The centre is nestled under the shade of trees and consists of an indoor discovery room, an arts and crafts studio/playroom which leads to a secure outdoor playground packed with jungle gyms, mazes, fields for sport and more. The majority of activities are centred around the bushveld environment, and each day kids can partake in a Junior Tracker/Ranger programme before re-joining the family for lunch.
The culinary experience embodies the luxury feel, with fresh seasonal ingredients used to create a variety of local dishes which have been passed through generations, and international plates prepared to the highest standard. The highly skilled chefs meticulously curate these meals to awaken guest palettes with their own twists, and can be paired with a plethora of wines from the cellar. Each family is invited to discuss their preferences with the chef in order to ensure that everyone is catered for, with junior meals available to accommodate developing tastes. Dining takes place either in the beautiful lantern lit boma area around the fire under the stars where food is cooked in the ‘Bush Kitchen’, on the covered dining deck, or intimate private dinners can be enjoyed on the pool deck.
For those looking for added relaxation, the Amani Spa features a range of therapeutic treatments whilst appreciating the serenity of the natural environment. Other facilities include a gym with views of the surrounding bush allowing guests to maintain their fitness routines and a boutique shop that stocks plenty of souvenirs to take back home.
