Discover Hawaii’s breathtaking landscapes and rich marine life on this intimate expedition voyage. Encounter humpback whales, spinner dolphins, sea turtles, and tropical birds, with daily adventures both on the water and ashore.
A stunning archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean, Hawaii is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, vibrant wildlife, and unique geological formations. This tropical paradise boasts pristine beaches, lush island interiors, ancient lava flows, and striking volcanic peaks. Offering countless opportunities for exploration, this small-ship expedition provides the perfect base for discovery— whether cruising to remote bays, kayaking to hidden coves, or snorkelling alongside Hawaii’s remarkable marine life.
One of Hawaii’s most remarkable natural wonders is the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary, which protects the breeding grounds of the North Pacific humpback whale. Spanning over 3,600 square kilometres of ocean, this sanctuary offers a rare chance to witness these majestic creatures during their annual migration from Alaska. From November through to April, the humpback whales engage in the full breeding cycle—mating, giving birth, and nursing their calves. A visit to these special waters is at the heart of this cruise, where you have the chance to observe these awe-inspiring behaviours up close.
In addition to humpback whales, 23 other cetacean species have been observed in Hawaiian waters, including false killer whale, spinner dolphin, and spotted dolphin. Beyond cetaceans, you can also expect to see giant Pacific mantra rays, green sea turtles, vibrant tropical fish, and an array of wonderful birdlife, with possible sightings including the scarlet honeycreeper and red crested cardinal.
The Safari Explorer’s small size allows for a flexible, intimate adventure, with daily excursions both on the water and ashore. Explore by skiff (small inflatable boat), snorkel among vibrant coral reefs, kayak along stunning coastlines, and hike volcanic trails. You even enjoy a special evening excursion—a magical night snorkel with graceful manta rays. After a day of adventure, retreat to the comfort of your vessel, featuring well-appointed cabins, gourmet dining, and ample deck space for relaxation and wildlife observation.
