Our wildlife photography tour to Kanha spends an entire week in one comfortable lodge, which some argue is one of the best wilderness lodges in the sub-continent with its excellent vehicles and naturalist guides.
Kanha is home to one of the largest tiger populations in India making it the perfect setting for this photo safari. The reason for this density is the huge herds of ungulates that reside within this reserve allowing it to support such high numbers of tiger.
But tigers are not just the only attraction in Kanha National Park. This captivating park is full of chital, sambar, barasingha, with jungle mynas and Indian rollers flittering around and langurs shading themselves in the undergrowth. Lustrous Indian giant squirrels chatter in the trees, handsome stripe-necked mongooses trot through the leaf-litter and packs of Asian wild dog (or dhole) can be photographed regularly. If we are lucky, we may even encounter leopard during our excursions into the reserve. In such cat country, sloth bears are less commonly seen but are here nonetheless. Kanha is a haven to such a variety and quantity of Indian wildlife, it is an excellent place to add a number of species to your portfolio over the course of this trip whilst also receiving tuition from an award-winning wildlife photographer throughout your stay.
We limit the group size of our departures to just six participants, which is the optimal number to have as it means that everyone is guaranteed a 'window' seat in the vehicle helping to improve the photographic possibilities.

:
Photographic sessions in Kanha National Park
Over the course of the next few days, we will explore the fabulous habitats of Kanha National Park, one of India's largest and most beautiful parks, in search of its wildlife and any photographic opportunities that we come across. We will have a series of morning and afternoon safaris and resting in the heat of the day, we continue our quest to observe tigers and the other wildlife of this beautiful park. Kanha encompasses a diverse range of habitats and, with luck, we may be fortunate enough to see and photograph tigers in a variety of settings. The meadow area in the centre of the park, the location of an old village, is particularly beautiful, with large swathes of open grassland. In the past it has been very good for both tigers and sloth bears.
Throughout our exploration of Kanha, we also hope to observe and photograph Indian wild dog (or dhole), gaur, chital and even leopard if we are particularly lucky. Needless to say we endeavour to visit this area on various occasions and hopefully enjoy a number of different and rewarding photographic opportunities. Our group will be split between three different vehicles which are exclusive to us and provide the space that we need to capture images and for our equipment.
During our down time at the lodge there will be some time to try some macro photography in the grounds or enjoy some landscape photography if we want to explore the surrounding area. This down time also allows us to recharge our batteries and go through our images before heading out again in the late afternoon.
