David Couve

David Couve is an experienced naturalist guide, nature photographer and author specialising in the wildlife of Southern Chile.

David lives in Tierra del Fuego, and enjoys exploring and investigating the unique events of the past that have formed the environment that exists today. During his varied career, he has undertaken several fascinating projects, including studying early humans at archaeological sites dating back 11,000 years, learning about glacial geological formations that shaped the Strait of Magellan, as well as recording the impact of the non-native beaver population in the fragile ecosystem of the Nothofagus Forest.

While he has a particular fascination with the mammals and especially the cats of Patagonia and the Andes (he has spent many months in the field looking for Andean cat and puna pampas cat), David also regularly researches and observes the migrations and nesting habits of birds in Tierra del Fuego. David's desire to learn and observe has become one of his greatest tool, and he brings a wealth of enthusiasm to each new exploration.
