Dimiter Georgiev

Hailing from Varna on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, Dimiter has dedicated his life to nature and conservation having graduated from university with a degree in forestry, and completing a thesis on the protection of birds and habitats of the Kamchia flooded forests - the biggest riverine forest complex along the Bulgarian coast.

Dimiter continues to be involved in conservation and research projects, but predominantly, he now leads birdwatching, wildlife photography and natural history tours throughout the year. He has extensive knowledge and experience, which he uses to find and explore the best birding and wildlife locations in Bulgaria, as well as other Balkan countries.

It is nature-based tourism of this kind that, he believes, will create significant improvements to the lives of local people and raise their awareness of wildlife and nature conservation.
