Swanand Despande

Swanand was born and bought up in Pune, India, and his passion for wildlife began during school trips he took to national parks in his early years.

Later, he turned his interest in wildlife and passion for photography into his profession, eventually evolving into a professional natural history filmmaker.

Starting out as a volunteer with a few of Pune-based wildlife travel companies, he soon started leading photography trips to some of India's most well-known wildlife locations, such as Kaziranga, Ranthambore, Nagarhole, Tadoba, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Pench, Satpura, Dandeli and Ladakh. He has also worked as a resident naturalist in Satpura, Kanha, Pench, and Tadoba for a number of boutique lodges over the past few years.
