Find Out More about Las Tangaras Lodge
Las Tangaras Reserve lies on the Pacific slope of Colombia’s western Andes – in the Choco, one of the world’s most biodiverse regions and particularly rich in birds, orchids and mammals.
Las Tangaras Reserve is home to exciting endemics as well as many Choco specialities, such as toucan barbet, black-chinned mountain-tanager, yellow-collared chlorophonia, bicoloured antvireo and indigo flowerpiercer.
Raptors here include the beautifully marked ornate hawk-eagle and the impressive black-and-chestnut eagle. The reserve is also home to a dazzling list of tanagers that include purplish-mantled, silver-throated, rufous-throated, glistening green and flame-faced, to name but a few. Woodpeckers, too, are well represented, with regional specialities including yellow-vented, crimson-mantled and powerful.
