One of the most unspoilt and wildlife rich private reserves on the eastern edge of the great Okavango Delta. Imagine great herds, prolific predators and abundant forest and wetland birdlife.
The reserve sits on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta and remains a relatively quiet and unspoilt area with a great diversity and abundance of large mammals and birds.
The Khwai River winds its way through the reserve to form the seasonal Mababe marsh over the summer months, attracting great herds into the area. Being a private reserve, visitors can enjoy the exclusivity the reserve offers with flexibility to drive off-road, take night drives and follow animals as they move through the landscape. The reserve is known for its abundance of breeding elephants, huge herds of buffalo and excellent locations to view hippo and crocodile. Lion, leopard and spotted hyena are all regularly seen and a pack of African wild dog hunt on the reserve.
The landscape is stunning, with clusters of palms dotted across the open grasslands and riparian and acacia woodlands scattered and managed by elephants. There are also more extensive areas of mature mopane woodland, which support a great density of leopards and birds of prey. The seasonal marsh becomes a mecca for waterbirds, elephants, hippos and also where many of the predators congregate, affording excellent sightings.
