Lying off the northwest coast of Madagascar, Nosy Be is the largest island in an extensive archipelago, and is developing a reputation as one of the world’s top island paradise locations.
A major centre for scuba diving, the wonderful tropical climate, gleaming white palm-fringed beaches and colourful coral reefs all add to the experience. From Nosy Be you can visit nearby islands such as Nosy Vorona, the remote jems of Nosy Iranja and Nosy Tsarabajina, and Nosy Tanikely, a small marine reserve island with fabulous snorkelling. The volcanic island of Komba is a sanctuary for black lemurs, and there is also a pleasant nature trail at Lokobe Reserve on southeast Nosy Be.
The islands can be visited all year except during February and March, when the rains are at their peak.
