The surrounding landscapes are also rich in wildlife with a variety of habitats including dry forest, wetland and open grassland to explore. Birdlife is particularly rich with species such as hoatzin, scarlet ibis, roseate spoonbill, lettered and many-banded aracaris, red-bellied macaw, bat falcon and great potoo. Mammals are another highlight and include populations of giant anteater, southern tamandua, Colombian squirrel, Brumback’s night and ornate titi monkeys.
