Located in the northeast of South Africa close to Eswatini's southern border, the Zimanga Private Game Reserve protects a swathe of pristine bushveld and is a perfect location for wildlife photography.
Covering more than 7000 hectares, Zimanga is characterised by the variety of habitats within its borders as well as the Mkuze River that traverses across the reserve. What really makes Zimanga stand out though is its intricate network of specially-designed photographic hides which offer diurnal and nocturnal photographic opportunities.
In addition to the hides, vehicle safaris at Zimanga also provide superb possibilities for wildlife photography. The reserve is home to more than 80 species of mammals including those which are synomynous with the great African continent including lion, leopard, white rhino, zebra, hippo, wildebeest, buffalo and cheetah. In addition, there are over 400 bird species to see in the KwaZulu Natal region and it is possible to see southern ground hornbill, little bee-eater, malachite kingfisher and bateleur.
