Freya is a characterful 12-guest expedition vessel, combining excellent ice capabilities with the intimacy, flexibility and comfort of a small-ship.
Originally built as a lighthouse vessel, Freya has a 1A ice-class hull, allowing her to navigate confidently through Arctic waters and into pack ice. Multiple observation decks and an open bridge provide excellent opportunities for wildlife watching, while two Zodiacs allow all guests to head out quickly for shore landings and exploration. Her small size creates a relaxed, personal atmosphere, with just 12 guests and an expedition guide-to-guest ratio of 1:6.
Life on board is comfortable and informal. The saloon-style dining room and bar is a sociable space for fresh, chef-prepared meals, while the lounge provides somewhere to relax between excursions, attend presentations or share photographs and stories from the day. Guests are also welcome on the bridge, offering a captain's-eye view and another excellent vantage point for spotting wildlife.
Outside, Freya's observation areas extend across several decks, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and wildlife. After a day exploring, guests can warm up in the sauna or relax in the outdoor hot tub while taking in the Arctic scenery. With her robust expedition credentials and exceptionally small group size, Freya offers an agile and highly personal way to explore the Arctic.
